PRE-RACE QUESTIONS

Is the physical Hamptons Marathon going to occur in 2021?

We have been permitted to host the 2021 event. The race will follow the latest state guidelines for mass gatherings. More details will be made available closer to race day.

In light of COVID-19, we have introduced Worry Free Registration:

Should the 2021 race be forced to cancel due to COVID-19, all of our in-person 2021 registrants will be awarded their entire registration fee back in the form of race credit. Race credit earned due to a COVID-19 cancellation will not expire and can be applied to any Capstone Races. If the 2021 Hamptons Marathon is operated, no race credit will be offered to runners. If you are unable to run for whatever reason, you will still be able to take advantage of our standard deferral policy. Our “No Refund” and “No Transfer” policies will still be in effect for this race.

How do I check if I'm registered?

Click here to visit our participant page and see if you’re registered.

What is a Shadow Runner?

The Shadow Runner option allows anyone to participate in the 2021 Hamptons Marathon & Half, whenever and wherever is convenient. Shadow Runners do not need to attend Packet Pick-Up or Race Day and swag (shirt; finisher medal for Full and Half Marathon runners) will be shipped to Shadow Runners’ indicated address within the U.S.

What is the Bib Mailing Add-On?

*Please note the deadline to add bib mailing was August 31 and has passed. Bib mailing can no longer be added to a registration.

This year, our participants will have the option to have their bibs conveniently mailed right to their front door for only $4.25. You can add this option on during your registration or if you’re already registered you can complete the Bib Mailing Add-On Form to get your bib mailed. Only bibs will be mailed, finisher shirts and medals will be available for pickup at the Finish Line Festival.

Anyone who does not purchase this option will need to attend our in person Packet Pick-Up. More Packet Pick-Up details to come.

We will not mail shirts or medals. The bib mailing add-on is only available for shipping addresses within the U.S.

How can I change my race distance?

You may change your distance by filling out the change race distance form here.

If you have purchased bib mailing, you will have until Tuesday, August 31 at 11:59PM to change your distance. You will still be able to change your distance after this deadline, but will then need to attend attend Packet Pick-Up or race day pick-up to receive your new bib. Runners without bib mailing will have up to 24 hours prior to the event to change your distance online. After this deadline you will need to make your changes during the expo/packet pick-up at the customer service desk.

We do not charge an administrative fee to change your distance. There is no charge to go down in distance, but if you choose a longer distance, you will need to pay the difference between the distances.

What is your refund policy?

The Hamptons Marathon reserves the right to reject any entry. Also, we adhere to the standard running industry policy. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is noted on our registration application and when you register for our events you must agree to this policy. You may not give or sell your number to another individual – if you do, this will result in your disqualification as well as the runner who uses your race number. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, pregnancy, etc. There are no exceptions!

In light of COVID-19, we have introduced Worry Free Registration:

Should the 2021 race be forced to cancel due to COVID-19, all of our 2021 registrants will be awarded their entire registration fee back in the form of race credit. Race credit earned due to a COVID-19 cancellation will not expire and can be applied to any Capstone Races. If the 2021 Hamptons Marathon is operated, no race credit will be offered to runners. Our “No Refund” and “No Transfer” policies will still be in effect for this race.

Can I transfer my registration to another person?

Sorry, we do not allow transfers from person to person.

How do I defer my registration to next year's event?

Please see below for our deferral process for future events.

Step 1: The deadline to defer your race entry is Tuesday, August 31 at 11:59PM. You can defer your registration for credit by filling out the form here. We have waived the normal deferral fees. Once you defer your entry, credit will be applied to your email address. Please note the amount of credit you receive is equal to the amount you paid at registration (excluding handling fees).

Step 2: Deferring your race entry does NOT automatically register you for a future event. To use your credit, you must sign up for an upcoming Capstone race using the email address associated with your credit. The credit will automatically be applied at the time of your registration.
