Greenbrier Race Weekend Quick Facts

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

RULES: Face coverings will be required at the start and finish area. Runners will be permitted to remove their face covering on the course when social distancing is possible. Anyone entering resort property or boarding a shuttle will be required to complete a temperature screening and wear a face covering while indoors. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or greater will be denied entrance to the resort and will not be permitted to race.

NO GEAR CHECK: No gear check will be offered for the 2021 event to minimize person-to-person contact.

CHANGE DISTANCE: The deadline to change your distance online was May 1, 2021 at 11:59PM. If you would like to change your distance after the deadline, please visit the Customer Service table during Packet Pick-up to make that change.

DEFERRAL DEADLINE: The deferral deadline was on May 1, 2021 at 11:59PM.

RACE START TIMES & LOCATIONS

HALF MARATHON – GROUP A: 6:45 AM

HALF MARATHON – GROUP B: 7:00 AM

10K: 7:15 AM

5K: 7:25 AM

START AND FINISH: Next to the Outdoor Pool at The Greenbrier resort.

*Half marathon runners will have their start group printed on their bibs. If you have a preferred start group/time, please submit this form by April 30 at 11:59pm, otherwise your group will be automatically assigned for you.

PARKING & SHUTTLES

The race will start next to the Outdoor Pool at The Greenbrier resort. A shuttle will be provided between 5:15am – 6:45am from the Train Lot to the Start Line area for non resort guests.

Anyone boarding a shuttle will need to submit to a temperature screening before boarding. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or greater will be denied entrance to the resort and will not be permitted to race. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to allow for social distancing and for a smooth race morning.

NON-GUEST PARKING

Non-resort guests will need to park in the Train Lot (315 W Main St, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986) and take a shuttle to and from the event.

POST-RACE SHUTTLES

Starting at 9:30 AM the Greenbrier shuttles will continue their regular routes, allowing runners to take shuttles from the finish area to the Train Lot.

PACKET PICK-UP

  • Friday, May 7 2:00pm – 7:00pm – Packet pick-up will be in the Garden Room in the Upper Lobby of The Greenbrier Resort.
  • There will be no race day packet pick-up.
  • Non-resort guests will take the shuttle from the Train Lot (315 W Main St, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986) to the resort for packet pick-up on Friday, May 7. The shuttle will run through the duration of Packet Pick-Up every 10 – 15 minutes.
    • Everyone will have their temperature checked before boarding the shuttle. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or greater will be denied entrance to the resort and will not be permitted to race.

WATER STATIONS

Cups will not be utilized for water stations. Water stations will instead include plastic water bottles. With these changes in mind, all runners are strongly encouraged to bring their own hydration packets for the 2021 event. Please dispose of bottles and other trash in trash cans to prevent littering.

POST-RACE PARTY

7:30am – 11:30am – Post-Race Champagne Brunch at the Outdoor Pool (Pre-purchased wristbands are required for all non-runners and can be picked up at Packet Pick-Up on Friday).

After your race, enjoy a delicious champagne brunch at the Outdoor Pool prepared by The Greenbrier’s exquisite culinary team, a live band and more! One entry to the post-race brunch is included with registration and any additional tickets can be purchased here.

OVERALL & AGE GROUP AWARDS

There will be no results tent at the finish line. Runners will receive a text message with a link to their individual results upon crossing the finish line.

OVERALL AWARDS: Overall awards for the 5k and 10K will be announced on the stage at 9:30am and half marathon overall awards will be announced on the stage at 10am. 

AGE GROUP AWARDS:

All awards will be determined based on chip time. Medal awards will be presented to the top three overall finishers male and female, and the top three age group finishers male and female in the Half Marathon, 10K and 5k in the following age categories:

19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over

All age group awards may be picked up at the Customer Service Table any time after 9am. Winners must be present to receive their prize; awards will not be mailed out.
