Greenbrier Race Weekend Quick Facts

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

CHANGE DISTANCE: Participants will be able to change their distance until 6:00 PM on Friday, May 10. If you need to change your distance, please complete the change distance form before coming to Packet Pick-Up. If you change your distance, please be sure the bib you receive is for the correct distance! 

DEFERRAL DEADLINE: The deferral window has closed. The deadline was Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 11:59 PM. No exceptions will be made.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: If spots are still available, registration will be open until  Friday, May 10 at 6:00 PM!

RACE START TIMES & LOCATIONS

HALF MARATHON: 6:45 AM

10K: 6:55 AM

5K: 7:00 AM

START AND FINISH: Sampras Way, past The Greenbrier Chapel and next to The Greenbrier Tennis Club & Fitness Center.

PARKING & SHUTTLES

Non-Resort Guests Shuttles/Parking:

Non-resort guests will park in the Train Lot, located off Route 60 (315 W Main St, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986). From the Train Lot, participants and spectators will take a shuttle to the North Entrance of the Resort.

A shuttle will be provided between 5:15 AM – 6:45 AM from the Train Lot to the Start Line area for non-resort guests.

Resort Guest Parking/Getting to the Start Line: 

Participants staying at the resort are encouraged to use valet or self-parking at the resort.

Participants staying at the resort will take the short, scenic walk from the hotel to the start line on race morning. Shuttles will not be provided for hotel guests.

Post-Race Shuttles for Non-Resort Guests: 

Runners who parked at the Train Lot will take The Greenbrier Shuttles back to the train lot from the Post-Race Party Area after the race. The final Post-Race shuttle will leave the Post Race-Party area at 12:00 PM.

Resort guests will walk back to their hotel after the post-race party.

PACKET PICK-UP

Date: Friday, May 10, 2024
Time: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: The Garden Room in the Upper Lobby of The Greenbrier Resort

At Packet Pick-Up, participants will receive their race bib, safety pins, finisher gift (glassware), and participant shirt. If you purchased a spectator brunch ticket, you will pick up the ticket(s) at Packet Pickup.

Parking: 

Resort guests are encouraged to use valet or self-parking.

Non-resort guests will take the shuttle from the Train Lot (315 W Main St, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986) to the resort for packet pick-up on Friday, May 12. The shuttle will run through the duration of Packet Pick-Up every 10 – 15 minutes.

Please Note: There will not be race day pick up. If you are unable to attend packet pickup on Friday, May 10, you may have someone pick up your bib, shirt, and finisher gift for you. They will need to show a picture of your ID.

HYDRATION STATIONS

The locations of the hydration stations will correspond with the following mile markers:

Half Marathon Miles: 2.5, 4.5, 6, 9, 10.5, 12

10k Miles: 1.5, 3.5, 5

5k Mile: 2

All hydration stations will offer water and Gatorade. There will also be restrooms (Golf Course restroom or a Porto-John) at each hydration station.

POST-RACE PARTY

7:30 AM – 11:30 AM – After your race, enjoy a delicious champagne brunch  prepared by The Greenbrier’s exquisite culinary team, a live band and more!

One entry to the post-race brunch is included with registration and additional tickets can be purchased here.

OVERALL & AGE GROUP AWARDS

There will be no results tent at the finish line. Runners will receive a text message with a link to their individual results after the race.

Overall awards will presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance based on gun time. Overall awards will be announced on the stage at approximately the following times:

  • 5k & 10K: 8:30 AM
  • Half Marathon: 9:30 AM

AGE GROUP AWARDS:

Age Group Awards are based on chip time and will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance in the following age categories:

19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over

Age group awards will be available for pickup at Customer Service at the following times:

5k/10k: 8:30 AM

Half Marathon: 9:30 AM

Winners must be present to receive their award; awards will not be mailed out.
