PRE-RACE QUESTIONS

How do I check if I'm registered?

How can I change my race distance?

You may change your distance by filling out the change race distance  form listed at the top of the page.

If you have purchased bib mailing, you will have until Friday, September 20 at 12PM ET to change your distance and have it reflected on your mailed bib. You will still be able to change your distance after this deadline, but will then need to attend attend Packet Pick-Up to receive your new bib.

Runners without bib mailing have until one hour prior to the end of Packet Pick-up to change your distance online. If you change your distance during race week, you will need to visit Customer Service at Packet Pick-Up to receive a bib for the correct distance.

We do not charge an administrative fee to change your distance. There is no charge to go down in distance, but if you choose a longer distance, you will need to pay the difference between the distances.

What is your refund policy?

The Bull City Race Fest reserves the right to reject any entry. Also, we adhere to the standard running industry policy. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is noted on our registration application and when you register for our events you must agree to this policy. You may not give or sell your number to another individual – if you do, this will result in your disqualification as well as the runner who uses your race number.

Entry Fees will only be awarded as race credit if the event were to be canceled prior to October 20, 2024. All fees and associated costs (including optional product purchases, spectator tickets, and donations), paid in registration for this Event are not refundable for any reason under any circumstances, including but not limited to injury, a scheduling conflict, and/or event cancellation.

If you are unable to attend the race, you can defer your registration for credit towards a future Capstone race.

Can I transfer my registration to another person?

Sorry, we do not allow transfers from person to person.

Do you offer a student discount/military discount?

Yes, we offer both a student and military discount. Please email us at info@bullcityracefest.com and we’ll send you a unique code for 10% off your registration. We ask that all students email a valid student ID to receive the code.

How do I defer my registration to next year's event?

Per our deferral policy, runners can defer their race without paying a deferral fee until June 20th, 2024 by completing the deferral form. Runners will receive race credit for the amount they paid at registration (minus handling fees).

From 6/21/24 – 10/10/24, runners will be able to defer their registration for a fee of $10.00. Runners will receive race credit for the amount they paid at registration (minus handling fees).

The deferral window will close at 11:59 PM 10/10/24. No exceptions to this deadline will be made.

What is the Bib Mailing Add-On?

Bib mailing allows you to have your bib conveniently mailed to your door! You can add it on for only $7.99 during registration. If you already registered and would like to add it on, you can do so here.

The deadline to add bib mailing was September 20th at 12 PM ET. Runners with bib mailing will pick up their shirts and medals at the Finish Line Festival on race day.

PLEASE NOTE: Bibs cannot be combined and each runner must purchase bib mailing separately. Shirts and medals will not be mailed. Runners without bib mailing will need to attend the in-person Packet Pick-Up.

What do I need to bring to packet pick-up?

All you will need is a photo ID.

I can't make it to Packet Pick-Up. What are my options?

You can have someone else pick up your packet if you are unable to make it to packet pick-up. They will need a picture of your photo ID in order to claim your packet.

You also have the option to purchase add-on bib mailing either during registration or via the Bib Mailing Add-On Form.

PLEASE NOTE: The deadline to add on bib mailing is September 27th at 12 PM ET. Shirts and medals will not be mailed.

Can I register at packet pick-up?

Registration will close one hour before the end of Packet Pick-Up, but we will not have registration equipment available at Packet Pick-Up. You will need to register on your own device and leave ample time to get to Packet Pick-Up before it closes to pick up your bib. 

Is the course USATF certified?

The half-marathon is USATF-certified.

Is this course a Boston qualifier?

No, this course is not a Boston Qualifier.

Does the Bull City Race Fest allow elite athlete entries?

We allow half marathon elite entries. Please see the qualifications below:

An elite athlete may receive one comp entry if he or she meets the standards listed below:

  • Time standards: 1:14:00 for males and 1:28:00 for females.
  • Time standards must be met in the the 12 months preceding the race date.
  • Runners must have proof of their time. Email info@bullcityracefest.com for details.
  • Bull City Race Fest reserves the right to adjust time standards at any time.
  • All elite athlete requests must be submitted at least 10 days prior to race day to info@bullcityracesfest.com.

Will there be pacers?

There will not be official pacers.

RACE DAY QUESTIONS

Where can I view a map of the course / see the course elevation?

Is there a time limit?

The time limit for this event is 3 hours and 15 minutes, which is a 15-minute per mile pace. The cutoff time is determined by our event permit, which permits us to use the roads, police support and other city resources for a specified period of time. After the permitted period ends, roads will reopen and we will no longer be able to provide participants with critical course support, including road closures, police and medical coverage, hydrations stations and course markings.
When the course closes at the cutoff time, any remaining participants must move off of the roads and onto a sidewalk. Anyone who decides to utilize the course route before or after the permitted time will not be considered an active participant and must follow pedestrian laws. Participants who do not meet the cutoff time will not receive an official time.

Are strollers allowed on the course?

Sorry, we do not allow strollers of any type in any of the races at the Bull City Race Fest. Thanks for understanding!

Are pets allowed on the race course?

Pets are not allowed on the race course for the safety of race participants, spectators and the animals.
However, service animals as recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are permitted on course. Should you decide to run the race with a service animal, please email your information to email. Runners with ADA service animals will be placed in the last corral behind individual runners for safety purposes.

What kind of hydration / food will be available on the course?

We always provide water at each of our aid stations. There is also usually sports drink and some aid stations may also provide an energy gel or Gu.

Where should I park on race morning?

What roads will be closed on race day?

Please visit our traffic webpage for more information and road closures and traffic delays.

What is your weather policy?

Races are held, rain or shine, unless we determine that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made on race weekend or race day by Race Officials and local law enforcement officials. If the race is cancelled due to inclement weather there will be neither refunds nor transfers. This position is consistent with USA Track & Field recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of running. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, Capstone Event Group reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race.

If there is inclement weather during the race, It is your responsibility as a race participant to follow instructions from race officials and law enforcement in regards to inclement weather. If you disregard instructions from race officials, you are doing so at your own risk.

Will a gear check be offered?

We will NOT be offering gear check at this race. However, there is ample parking within walking distance of the race. We recommend runners leave any personal effects locked in their cars during the race.

Is there race day packet pick-up?

We strongly encourage all participants to either attend Packet Pick-Up or add Bib Mailing to ensure a smooth race morning. If you are not able to attend Packet Pick-Up and did not add bib mailing, please email info@bullcityracefest.com.

I want to find my runner, is there a live tracking option available?

There will not be a live tracking method.

Where are the best places to see the runners pass by, so I can cheer my runner on?

We always recommend spectating at the start and finish lines! If you are looking for other places to cheer on your runner, please see the Athlete Guide when it is released.

POST-RACE QUESTIONS

Where can I find my results?

There will be no results tent this year and runners will receive a text with results. Results can also be found on our results webpage.

My results were wrong; how do I get them corrected?

If there is anything wrong with your result, such as a missing time, incorrect age, gender, etc., please complete the Results Correction form. If your results are not displaying properly, we will get it fixed and updated as quickly as possible.

How do I get my race photos after the race?

All runners will receive an email from our photography partner 3-5 days after the race with a link to view and/or purchase their photos. Please be sure to follow the directions provided in the email from the race photographer to access your photos. You can also find the link to our photos on this webpage.

How are awards determined?

Overall Awards are given to the top three finishers male and female in the Half Marathon and 5 Mile Run based on gun time.

Age Group Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group based on chip time for the Half Marathon and the 5 Mile Run.

What are the age groups for age group awards?

The age group categories are as follows: 

19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over

Is there a lost & found?

We encourage anyone who finds something on the course or at the Post-Race Party to bring lost items to the Customer Service Tent. If you lose something during the race, please check with the Customer Service Tent for the item. You can also email info@bullcityracefest.com if you realize you lost something after the race.
