What is Worry Free Registration?
What is your refund policy?
Entry Fees will only be awarded as race credit if the event were to be cancelled prior to November 6, 2022 due to COVID-19. All fees and associated costs (including optional product purchases, spectator tickets, and donations), paid in registration for this Event are not refundable for any reason under any circumstances, including but not limited to injury, a scheduling conflict, and/or event cancellation.
If you are unable to attend the race, you can defer your registration for credit towards a future Capstone race.

How can I change my race distance?
Runners WITHOUT bib mailing have until 24 hours before the event to change distance. After this deadline you will need to make your changes during the expo/packet pick-up at the customer service desk.

Please note: Anyone who runs a distance with the incorrect distance timing chip will be disqualified from the race.
Can I have my race bib mailed?
My race bib was mailed to me, where do I get my shirt and finisher gift?
When will my race bib arrive in the mail?
If you do not receive your race bib in the mail you will need to attend Packet Pick-Up to receive a race bib.

Can I transfer my registration to another person?
How do I defer my registration to a future event?
Step 1: The deadline to defer is about 3 weeks before the event – October 14, 2022 at 12 PM– you can defer your entry for credit by filling out this form here. Once you defer your entry, credit will be applied to your email address. Please note the amount of credit you receive is equal to the amount you paid at registration (excluding handling fees). We’ve also waived the normal deferral fee.
Step 2: Deferring your race entry does NOT automatically register you for a future event. To use your credit, you must sign up for an upcoming Capstone race using the email address associated with your credit. The credit will automatically be applied at the time of your registration. When registering, you should see your credit appear here:

If you are unable to attend the Packet Pick-Up you can have someone get your items for you or you can purchase Bib Mailing for only $6.99 to receive your race bib before race day. Click here to get bib mailing
Can I register at packet pick-up?
I can't make it to Packet Pick-Up, what do I need to do?
If you do not have anyone available to pick up for you, we recommend adding bib mailing to your registration for only $6.99. You’ll receive your race bib in the mail before race day. The deadline to add this convenience to your registration is Friday, October 14 at 12 PM. We will have a bib mailing add on form available soon!

Is this course a Boston qualifier?
Does the City of Oaks Marathon allow elite athlete entries?
An elite athlete may receive one comp entry if he or she meets the standards listed below:
- Time standards Marathon: 2:46:00 for males and 3:18:00 for females.
- Time standards Half Marathon: 1:13:00 for males and 1:25:00 for females.
- Runners must have proof of their time. Email info@cityofoaksmarathon.com for details.
- All elite athlete requests must be submitted at least 10 day prior to race day to info@cityofoaksmarathon.com.
- The results must be from within the past year to be considered for an elite entry.
Will there be pacers?
Full marathon: 3:15 | 3:30 | 3:45 | 4:00 | 4:15 | 4:30 | 4:45 | 5:00 | 5:15 | 5:30
Half marathon: 1:45 | 2:00 | 2:15 | 2:30 | 2:45 | 3:00

RACE DAY QUESTIONS
Where can I view a map of the course / see the course elevation?
Is there a time limit?
Any runners remaining on the course after the time limit will no longer be considered race participants and will be required to follow pedestrian laws. Official times and post-race amenities cannot be guaranteed for runners who finish after the time limit. Please note, there will be a sag wagon available to pick up runners who are unable to meet this time limit.
Are strollers allowed on the course?
Can I wear headphones?
Are pets allowed on course?
However, service animals as recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are permitted on course. Should you decide to run the race with a service animal, please email your information to email. Runners with ADA service animals will be placed in the last corral behind individual runners for safety purposes.
What kind of hydration / food will be available on the course?
5K: Mile 2
10K: Miles 3, 4, 5
Half: Miles 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12
Full: Miles 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14.5, 16.5, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25
Amino Vital will be offered at all aid stations.
Gu will be offered to the Half Marathon at mile 7.75 (Aid Station 4), and to the Full Marathon at Miles 7.75 (Aid Station 4), 11, 20 (Aid Station 6), 16.5, and 14.5 (Aid Station 8).
Are pets allowed in the post race area?
Where should I park on race morning?
Suggestions include:
- The Village District: Approximately 0.8 mile walk (or an 18-minute walk) to the start line
- Fred Fletcher Park Street Parking: Approximately 0.55 mile walk (or a 15-minute walk) to the start line
- Cameron Park Neighborhood Residential Street Parking: Approximately 0.33 mile walk (or a 12-minute walk) to the start line
All of these options are accessible without crossing any road closures utilizing Peace St. or Wade Ave.

The race is not responsible or liable for items placed in your bags and left at the gear check.
Is there race day packet pick-up?
Where are the best places to see the runners pass by, so I can cheer my runner on?
Are there port-a-johns (restrooms)?
Port-O-Johns will be located adjacent to the start and finish lines on Tucker St. between N West St. and Glenwood Ave.

How are awards determined?
PLEASE NOTE: If you are unable to stay for the award ceremony and believe you won an overall award please see the Customer Service Tent race day to ensure you receive the medal. Overall Award or Age Group medals will NOT be mailed out after the event.
What are the age groups for age group awards?
Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k & 5k:
Ages 14 and under; 15 – 19; 20 –24; 25 – 29; 30 – 34; 35 – 39; 40 – 44; 45 – 49; 50 – 54; 55 – 59; 60 – 64; 65 – 69; 70+
Awards will be given to the top THREE finisher for the marathon and half marathon; while 10k and 5k awards will be only TOP finishers in each age group.
There are no awards for the Kid’s Mile. Winners must be present to receive their prize; awards will not be mailed out.
