*Please Note: Daylight saving time changes at 2:00am ET on Sunday, November 7. Be sure to set your clocks back one hour to be on time for the start!

COVID-19 Safety Plan

We highly recommend that all of our participants wear masks at the start line before the race and upon crossing the finish line at the end of the race as well as maintaining a social distance of 6ft when possible. We will continue to abide by local and state rules and regulations. In the event new regulations are put into place, we will update all of our participants as soon as possible

Start & Finish Location

A new start and finish location will be announced soon.


From RDU airport, follow signs for I-40 East toward Raleigh. Once on I-40 East, drive 5 miles to Wade Avenue/North Raleigh and take the right-hand exit (right two lanes). Remain in the right lane and take the third exit onto South 440/Hillsborough Street. Take South 440 to exit for Hillsborough/N.C. State University. Go east on Hillsborough to the NC State University Campus.


The Acorn 5k will utilize chip timing.

Time Limit

Runners in the Acorn 5k will have a time limit of 2 hours (9:30 AM).

Any runners remaining on the course after the time limit will no longer be considered race participants and will be required to follow pedestrian laws. Official times and post-race amenities cannot be guaranteed for runners who finish after the time limit. Please note, there will note be a sag wagon available to pick up runners who are unable to meet this time limit.

Packet Pick-Up

  • Packet Pick-Up will be held November 2 from 10 AM – 6 PM at Martin Middle School. There will be no Race Day Packet Pick-Up!
  • Make sure you get your bib, 2019 participant shirt and a gear check bag.

Awards Info

Overall awards will be given to male and female overall winners based on gun time. Age group awards will be given to male and female overall winners based on chip timeWinners must be present to receive their prize; awards will not be mailed out.
